Shelly Coron

My name is Shelly Coron. I grew up in Juneau, WI on a dairy farm. I attended grade school at St. Johns Luth. in Juneau and eventually attended Lakeside Lutheran High School. I received my Bachelors in Fitness Studies; Minor in Sports Management from Lakeland University in Sheboygan and then went back to school for my Masters in Special Education. I worked 10 years at GLS in Oconomowoc helping students with Emotional & Social Disorders. Most recently, I have transitioned into a new role at Lakeside Lutheran as an Extended Learning Center and General Math teacher. I currently reside in Watertown with my husband Steve, daughter Rylee,  and step-daughter Olivia.

I have been actively engaged in the sport of volleyball for years. I played in high school, college and on various adult USAV teams. I have also coached JV at Lakeside Lutheran for the past 12 years and 6 years at River City, along with Co-Directing. I love volleyball and hope to give athletes that same feeling while they learn. I expect the girls to work hard and always push themselves while they learn. I also expect them to be respectful of the coaches and their teammates so they can grow as individuals on and off the court. This year my husband Steve and I (assisting) will be coaching the 14 Black team.

Three random facts:

1. I love to hunt and can shoot my gun ambidextrously from the stand.  For example, my first buck I shot left- handed while my last buck I shot right-handed.

2. My family and I are well known for selling Lab pups.

3. I enjoy Karaoke. I secretly wanted to be a country singer

Beth Leis

I am Beth Leis. This is my third year of being the co-director at RC.  I live in Watertown with my husband Jeff and youngest daughter Brielle. Our oldest daughter Brittany is married to Matt and have two children Fox and Lyra. Our two sons Brennan and Brandon live in Lake Mills.

My love for volleyball started on my family’s farm where we had a volleyball court. Whenever our chores were done we were out there playing. I continued playing in high school at Lakeside and two years at WLC.  If time allows, I play in fall and summer too.

I started coaching right after college at our grade school and coached there for close to 30 years. I started coaching at River City 25 yrs ago.  Throughout the years I have coached at every age level.

I have always had a passion for volleyball. My goal is to instill that feeling in each player and coach. I want them to love the sport of volleyball as much as I do.  Our goal as leaders of RC is to develop our players in strong fundamentals and as they grow to continue their play to the next level.

In my spare time I enjoy reading, gardening and spending time with my children and grandchildren.
